Staying Busy with my Store!

I love being busy.  So many people think I am too busy and they may be right.  I don’t like being busy with “work” work…but I love being busy with “craft” work.  I am thrilled when people ask me to make items as gifts…how flattering.  I especially love making shirts.  Here is a recent shirt for friends going on a cruise.

This shirt is special because it was made with love for some young ballerinas.

No matter how busy you are, take some time for yourself.  Crafting releases my stress and makes me happy.  You should try it!

Graphic 45 Voyage Beneath the Sea

Wow. Just wow. We saw this done in a scrapbook store and I had to do it. They happened to have extra kits and I jumped at the chance. It did not take too long considering I only worked on it at crops. It entailed a lot of fussy cutting. Some images are 5 layers. Oh but it makes the world of difference.

The base is canvas and then it was covered with cheese cloth. The embellishments included shells, starfish, net, moss, pearls, baby’s breath, and peacock feathers.

One thing I learned from the shop owner was to use silicon to layer the images. Yes, simple silicon found in the hardware store. It is easy to use and less expensive than pop dots.

I hope you have enjoyed my newest project made from Graphic 45!

Fairy Throne DT Card

Update:  I am honored to have been selected as a DT Favorite at the World Wide Design Team Challenge Blog.

Hello friends!

This gorgeous card was my DT creation for the Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge in June. This image by Star Stampz was very intimidating when I first picked it.  I am not a fairy lover and had a difficult time differentiating the parts of the image!  As I colored, and the image came to life, I found myself loving this image!!!

I colored the image with Copic markers:

  • Skin: E00, E000, E11, R12
  • Dress: R01, R02, R05
  • Hair: E31, E33, E35, E37
  • Leaf: BG93, BG96, B99

I fussy cut the princess and leaf and popped it off the card.

I used Stickles to give the wings, parts of the dress, and background some texture:

  • Orange Peel
  • Silver
  • Icicle
  • Stardust
  • Holly

I typed the message “Time is not measured by clocks but by moments” in Word and used a clock clip art to create the label.  I used Bo Bunny Back to Backs design paper and layered the card with Tangerine and Lilac Stampin’ Up card stock.

The final touch was flowers by Wild Orchid with pearl accents.
